It was a chilly winter's day, and Norman and Shark were traipsing through the birch forest to see what they could get into.  Well, technically Shark was swimming and Norman was traipsing, but you get the idea!  It was so cold that ice crystals hung in the air, and the sun shone through the leafless trees, making the snow and the bark sparkle and the shadows look blue.  There was a time when I would have joined them, and even walked barefoot through that creek in the dead of winter, but now that I'm older and my bones ache, I'll just let Norman and Shark take care of it!

This painting is watercolor and pen and ink on watercolor paper.  It has been framed and matted to approximately 16"x20".
